We still feel beyond blessed that couples choose us to shoot their wedding, and Rachel and Joe are no exception. These two are starting their life together and just moved into a new house, so honestly, what better way to celebrate their engagement by taking some fun at-home engagement photos? We spent the first part of the evening hanging out at their new abode, ate some charcuterie, and got to snuggle their adorable doggo, Ruby!
We hope that you can tell by most of these photos, but one of the BEST ways we can get genuine smiles and interactions from the people we work with is is to let them be themselves! That way, you can get super fun at-home engagement photos that don’t seem stuffy or posed. Typically when we do these, we like to have our couples do an activity that they would do at home together on a normal day. Snacking and snuggling the pup is the perfect evening in! Honestly, it’s your date night, we’re just along for the ride 🙂
But then, from their place, we drove up to Jetton Park to catch the sunset and spend time by the lake. At the end of the shoot, they REALLY broke out the fun, popped a bottle of champagne, and ran through the water. Although we’ve done quite a few shoots at Jetton park now, we always manage to get something different. We’ve never had a couple be willing to run in the water before, and now we want ALL of our couples to be up for the challenge!
We had an absolute BLAST with these two and can’t wait to shoot at a new venue for their wedding – the gorgeous Riverwood Manor right outside of Charlotte.
