Alex and Klay struggled at first to choose a location for their engagement session (there are so many great choices in Charlotte!), but I think we can all agree that they made an amazing choice with Camp North End and Rosie’s Wine Garden. While rain threatened to derail our shoot, it luckily held off until the very end of the evening. We took as many photos as we could without getting utterly drenched and then grabbed some drinks.
As photographers, we adore Camp North End for it’s wide variety of unique environments: from wall murals, to vintage patio furniture, to Charlotte skyline views. Personally, we also love it for it’s focus on urban redevelopment and community building (learn more here!). Either way, we are always ecstatic to explore. And it’s always growing and evolving as new businesses move in and artists bring new life to old buildings.
Alex and Klay’s session was actually the first time we’ve ever been to Rosie’s and what a dream! A small wine and beer bar in an old home that exits out into a maze of gardens is a perfect setting for romantic photographs. It started to drizzle by the time we arrived at Rosie’s the night of the shoot, but we stayed under the cover of the trees and played a little in the rain. When it got to be too much, we called it and settled down under a tent with some beverages and talked all things dogs, music, wedding, home-ownership, and more!
Alex and Klay are both pediatric nurses on a rehabilitation unit for brain and spinal cord injuries (wow!) and met at work. They were friends first and always supported each other on the job and also in their personal lives. These two are smart, compassionate, hardworking, and have hearts of gold. Outside of work, they enjoy cheering on the Panthers, attending concerts, and loving on their fur babies: a Frenchie named Leo and an Aussie named Fynnley.
