Since the pandemic, things in the wedding world have shifted quite a bit. We’re seeing a lot more elopements and micro weddings than we used to, and honestly? We’re not mad about it. Surprisingly, this Charlotte Micro Wedding took our 10-10-2020 wedding date, which was the biggest wedding day of the year, but it was our smallest wedding ever! There were just 6 guests, 2 photographers, one officiant, and the happy couple!

Anna and Craig live in New York and visited Lake Norman for the first time this past summer as a quarantine get-away. They loved it so much that they knew they had to get married here! They booked a beautiful AirBnb on Lake Norman for a long weekend getaway with family (Note: please check AirBnB’s policy when it comes to booking and hosting weddings of a certain capacity). We’ve never shot on this side of Lake Norman before; typically we shoot at Jetton Park (see our page on Jetton Park here!) It was a relaxing couple of days filled with lounging, wine tasting, and spending quality time with loved ones. And that’s exactly how a Micro Wedding in Charlotte should be during this time – small, intimate, and exactly catered to what you want.

Despite rain, it was a beautiful day and Anna and Craig weren’t even phased! They held the ceremony on the large covered porch (instead of down by the dock), but that was all they needed. Afterwards, they were totally down to head out in the rain for some fun photos! Even though things have changed right now, love is NOT cancelled, and this Charlotte Micro Wedding definitely is the right and safe way to do things at the moment.
