Ashley and Tommy requested two main things out of their engagement session with us: capture them with their dogs and then going to their favorite pizza place. We started their session by walking their two huskies, Koopa Troopa and Jace, around their neighborhood. In typical husky fashion, they were very excited and found it hard to sit still, but with some treat bribery, we were able to grab quite a few good pictures of them. After rewarding the dogs with dinner and a quick outfit change, we headed over to Capsiche to get some pizza for ourselves. Ashley even wore pizza earrings for the occasion! We don’t normally take pictures of people eating, but this was a great exception. If you’ve ever thought about incorporating your favorite food (like pizza!) or restaurant into your engagement session, it can be done!

Now, a little more about Ashley and Tommy: they met online, but not long after they started dating, they visited Paris together. Ashley is a middle school French teacher, so she was excited to take Tommy to see where she lived while studying abroad. Tommy surprised Ashley by learning French on the sly via DuoLingo and solidified his status as “the one”. Together, they love to cook, travel, and hang out with their pets (they also have a black cat named Oliver). Sadly, not long after this engagement session, Koopa became unwell and is no longer with us. We’re glad that we at least got to capture them all together (minus the cat) one last time.

Ashley and Tommy will be getting married in April 2024 at The Terrace at Cedar Hill, one of our favorite Charlotte wedding venues!
