It FINALLY happened - you’re engaged. You get to start planning your wedding and making allllllll those dreams a reality. We're incredibly lucky to have such a wide variety of wedding venues in Charlotte, North Carolina. We have everything from huge barn venues to modern and industrial venues, small intimate wedding venues, and historical houses to fit your every need. We're lucky enough to have shot at a lot of these venues, but we wanted to give shout outs to the ones that we haven't as well! We'll try to include as much information as possible in these descriptions, and link to blog posts that we have for any of these venues.
We’ll hopefully be updating this blog post frequently, so as of writing, this post was updated on 11/01/2021.
Managed by Best Impressions Caterers, this massive Uptown venue is perfect for large events, and for weddings, it can make for an elegant extravaganza. When you choose Founder’s Hall, you not only get a gorgeous event hall that can fit a ton of people, but full catering is now also included. We love the uptown setting, the massive glass ceiling, and the two story design. Best Impressions is also able to add tables, chairs, linens, draping, and uplighting to the space to give it a crazy cool ambiance.
Also managed by Best Impressions Caterers, this venue is located at the very edge of 277 to the west. This venue is one of our favorites because of the variety of setups that you can have in the space. You can have your ceremony and reception in the exact same space, and there’s a TON of parking for all of your guests as well. The view of Uptown Charlotte is like no other. Check out Kelly and Ryan’s Terrace at Cedar Hill Wedding!
For those who are looking for something more quaint and religious, but still surrounded by the city, this tiny chapel might go unnoticed if you don’t know what you’re looking for. This beautiful place was designated a historical venue since 1975, and is actually owned by Mecklenburg County. However, don’t be fooled, because between the gorgeous stained glass and proximity to the greenway for portraits, St. Mary’s still can hold it’s weight against the largest uptown venues for ceremony spaces. We’ve seen most couples have their ceremony here, and then travel to somewhere larger for a reception.
Not to be confused with the other location of The Mint Museum on Randolph Road, this venue offers one of the most unique settings and reception spaces all around – in an art museum. The main ceremony space has a massive glass window backdrop and is surrounded by wall to ceiling sculptures and art. For your reception, the Grand Room upstairs has a gorgeous and open space for all of your guests, and an accessible patio to be able to get some fresh air. You can pick and choose your spaces here and really customize your day!
An art gallery, an outdoor terrace, and a solarium (big open room surrounded by glass) in the middle of the city? Sign us up. Located inside of Hearst Tower, this modern wedding venue screams class, and it has sweeping views of Uptown to accompany it.
Combined lodging as well as indoor and outdoor options make this a definite favorite for us. The Morehead Inn is easily accessible from Uptown, and is incredibly gorgeous. In addition, it has 12 rooms for guests to stay in, enabling couples to stay the night there and wake up and get ready for their day. They also have a tent setup available in case of bad weather, making it absolutely worry-free.
The Grand Bohemian Hotel is located right uptown and is relatively new to the city. There are SO many cool spaces, patios, gardens, and unique settings in and around the hotel, making it a photographer’s playground. Not only are the rooms gorgeous, but the garden out to the side is a perfect place for a ceremony or first look, along with the spacious patio with a wall of flowers and a beautiful view of the city. Pair all that with an in house Argentinian catering service, and you’ve got yourself a winner.
8.2.0. may be a bar/restaurant/kareoke bar from the outside (yes, really!), but if you make it past all the secret rooms and down the right hallways, there’s a beautiful event space with a large room that can actually be divided into two rooms (The Paris Room and the New York Room). The space can be decorated with lights and drapery, and can fit a surprising amount of people to have a pretty large open dance floor as well as a flipped ceremony/reception space. There’s even a bar IN the space which can serve cocktails ON DRAFT! It also puts you in a perfect location to go out after to any of the Music Factory’s bars after, if you’re into that 😉
The Collector’s Room is really a blank canvas. It’s a renovated warehouse in South End that’s been painted white, and the rest is really up to you! This place can be anything you want it to be, and that’s what we love about it. Perfect for those who enjoy the customization aspect of things, but you still get the perks of have Beau Monde Events create unique food and a curated bar for you!
Triple C Barrel Room is across the street from the Charlotte brewery, Triple C Brewing. It’s a fully dedicated event space that bring dark tones in a really nice enclosed space in the heart of South End, Charlotte. With a fully equipped kitchen and AV system, alongside a FULL tap room, Triple C is the perfect location if you’re thinking of a low key event that’s surrounded by Charlotte’s favorite craft drink 😉
What started out as a jazz and supper club (hosting big names like John Legend and more!) has turned into a unique venue to host your wedding in Charlotte! Featuring a huge dance floor and a built in stage, and onsite food and beverage, The Big Chill is a hidden gem of a place to host a wedding reception, especially if you’re considering a live band.
Byron’s South End is a banquet venue in the heart of South End, Charlotte, owned by Best Impressions Catering. And you know what that means – AWESOME food and catering is inevitable. Byron’s has exposed brick, modern chandeliers, and a big open space, which makes it perfect for a really elegant wedding. It’s proximity to the rest of South End also puts you in a PRIME position to go after a celebratory night!
Actually located right around the corner from Bryon’s South End, The Design Center Atrium is a unique two story indoor venue. This place is often looked over, but can provide an incredible wedding day experience. The space is almost infinitely customizable, and can be used for both a ceremony and a reception with a quick flip. With exposed brick, metal beams, and an awesome staircase connecting the two, the Design Center Atrium is a unique and historic venue that any couple that has an eye for design would adore.
If anybody has an affinity with exposed wood , Norfolk Hall is the PERFECT place to bring a bit of an industrial feel to your wedding. This venue is actually managed by QC Catering, which means that all of your food needs are in good hands. You’ll also be right next to Suffolk Punch, which can cater all of your beer needs throughout the night!
This is another awesome venue managed by Best Impression Caterers and is a private event space separate from the rest of the Catawba Brewing Company tap room. With barrels stacked from floor to ceiling in what used to be Famous Amos cookie factory owned by Kelloggs, it is historic, romantic, and any beer-lover’s dream!
The Canopy by Hilton Charlotte Southpark is a relatively new, open ballroom type space, and with 5 spaces available for your use, there are so many possibilities to host your wedding here. The ballroom is the perfect place for a large reception, both seated and standing. The ease of having a hotel for your guests to stay and a built in kitchen to your venue can also be absolutely invaluable, and for that reason, we think it’s definitely a venue to consider!
A beautiful all-inclusive venue, Alexander Homestead has a gorgeous property with the actual house for getting ready, a ceremony space outdoors with a gazebo and string lights, and a fully indoor barn to host your reception. And between them all, you’ll find perfectly manicured gardens and a small pond that really turn this venue into a little oasis.
We love this venue for it’s historic charm and picturesque locations for both ceremony and reception. We personally recommend saying your vows in front of a beautiful arcing tree branch covered in vines that’s located to the side of the house. Then send your guests to the courtyard for the reception which is strung up with lots of market lights and a clear tent top for dancing under the stars!
The 1932 Barn is one of our favorite barn venues, due to the spacious reception area and separate designated getting-ready rooms. With an outdoor ceremony space that’s under the cover of a large tree, a fully indoor reception space, and cocktail hour scattered around the property with little nooks for people to relax, this place is as upscale rustic as it gets. We adore working here, as the property is also a working farm and has animals roaming around! Check out Hannah and Ethan’s 1932 Barn Wedding!
McGill Rose Garden is a private getaway for a small wedding. Although it’s right outside of uptown, you’re fully surrounded by greenery in a magical garden setting. This venue gets bonus points for being connected to Rosie’s Wine Garden to help out with cocktail hour 😉
One of Charlotte’s newest venues is nestled right off the Plaza! Renovated and managed by Best Impression Caterers, it is beautiful all on it’s own and doesn’t need much in the way of décor. The terrace to the side of the house is massive with a view of the gardens, which makes it perfect for both ceremony and reception with a cocktail hour inside the historic home. There is also a large bridal suite with lots of windows and mirrors and a few other smaller getting-ready spaces on-site.
If you’re looking for a venue with a gorgeous backdrop, but not a lot of frills, definitely take a look at The Quarry at Carrigan Farms. Ceremonies are generally held on the granite cliffs overlooking the Quarry and you can have them time it to turn on the waterfall when you say “I Do”. Receptions are held under a covered pavilion, which is open-air during the warmer months. Farm-to-table meals are included in all wedding packages and prepared on-site. At night they light the fire pits and set up colored lights on the falls!
The Hotel Concord is a gorgeously renovated hotel from the 1920’s, right in downtown Concord. It has a large ballroom with tons of natural light and a bridal suite on-site. It is now just an event venue, not a hotel, so you’ll have the whole place to yourself. The marble floors and art deco fixtures give this place a sophisticated feel and offers many opportunities for cool photos!
Looking for a big venue? Look no further! The “Lab Mill”, as it is affectionately called, is a massive old cotton mill that was later used as a medical laboratory. Now, it has been fully renovated into a wedding venue with two main indoor event spaces that can be used on a wedding day. A river runs behind the mill (it used to power it) and there’s a small beach you can cross to reach it and take pictures in front of the falls.
