It’s hard to write about Shannon and Chris without getting a little bit personal. Shannon and Chris had their wedding at Rural Hill, which is a farm in Huntersville, North Carolina, a bit north of Charlotte. It’s also where we happened to get married in 2018, so it plays a big part in our lives. Rural Hill isn’t a working farm, but it’s a fantastic wedding and event venue, and it’s the only place in North Carolina that we know of that has highland cows.

Shannon and Chris are from out of state, but that didn’t prevent us from feeling like we’d known these two forever. They’re both so easy going and passionate about craft beer, having the ability to photograph them on their wedding day was EASY. It was even easy on their engagement shoot (If you haven’t it yet, you can check it out here!)

We started the morning at Shannon’s mother’s house for getting ready, since they live out of state. She got her makeup done there as well as spent a really relaxing morning with her girls. After that, we all carpooled to Rural Hill for a first look.

Shannon and Chris were actually already married, but they still opted to do another first look…even though they had seen each other before haha. It was still an incredibly sweet moment to have together, and they were both as excited as ever to celebrate with a big party later on!

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Rural Hill

We had a flower gent at our wedding, so of COURSE Shannon and Chris had to have one as well. They did a decent job, but nothing can beat how beautiful a wedding ceremony outdoors underneath that big tree is.

Wedding Portraits in North Carolina with Farm Animals? Count us in!

When we were married, some of our favorite photos were with those cows, and we wanted to give these two something similar as well! The cows are ridiculously cute and love to interact with people…and eat corn. They ADORE corn.

We strive to give couples unique wedding portraits, something that they can’t get anywhere else. Does that include cows sometimes? Sure. Does it include awesome reflections that defy gravity? Also, yes. Hope you all enjoy the moments!
