Here’s how this story should go: Reedy contacted us when his humans got engaged, because he was so excited to finally be the subject of a photoshoot. Obviously, the best place to take his parents was somewhere outside with lots of trees, squirrels, sun, and open fields to run around. That’s where they prefer hanging out after all. So, after not much deliberation at all due to a lack of object permanence, we decided on McAlpine Creek Greenway close to uptown Charlotte for their engagement session!

What really happened was this: Lauren and Jarret’s lives revolve around their fur baby, Reedy, so it was only logical that he was also the guest star in their engagement session. Reedy is a English cream golden retriever who just turned 3 years old. Lauren says, “We are obsessed with our English cream golden retriever who will be a big part of our special day and is very photogenic.”

Lauren and Jarret took full advantage of the fall foliage on the greenway that was filled with oranges and greens. Fall is hands down our favorite season after the brutal summers that Charlotte can have, and getting outside on the greenway is a perfect way to celebrate cooler temps during an engagement session.

Reedy is surprisingly shy when on-leash but transforms into a friendly goofball when off-leash. It’s clear from the photos that he is as madly in love with his humans as they are with him. They go on all sorts of adventures together from hiking to breweries! He is the goodest boy. We cannot wait to shoot their wedding in a few short weeks at Langtree Plantation.

We ended their shoot on the same rooftop we ended Emma and Pat‘s shoot, which is one of our favorites in the city. Reedy thought so too, which matters the most.
