We’ve all heard that rain on your wedding day can be lucky, but do you know why? We’ve heard a couple of different theories over the years, but our favorite is that when you get married, you “tie the knot”, and knots are always tougher to come undone when they’re wet. Karly and Ken proved that rainy weddings can not only be lucky, but beautiful as well. Having an amazing indoor wedding venue like Founders Hall doesn’t hurt either, which lets in tons of light even if it’s rainy!
Ceremony Venue: Founders Hall | Reception Venue: Terrace at Cedar Hill | Planner: Boundless Love Events | Caterer: Best Impressions Catering | Florist: The Finest Details | Baker: Bake Mohr Sweets | Band: Emerald Empire | Makeup: Makeup by Ashley | Videographer: Nebo Productions | Wedding Dress: Eddy K Bridal | Wedding Suit: Indochino
Karly and her bridesmaids got ready for the day in Karly and Ken’s home, which had tons of intimate details everywhere! Roxy, their dog, played a big role during the day too (how freaking cute is that dog?!?). After Karly’s mom helped her get dressed, her and her bridesmaids got into a limo and headed to Founders Hall.
Ken and his groomsmen got ready for the day at the Omni Hotel in Uptown Charlotte, where the rooms have tons of interesting modern light fixtures. One of our favorite details is in the inside of Ken’s jacket, it says “I love you, forever”.
One of the nice things about Founders Hall is that even if it’s rainy outside, there are so many locations inside to do portraits and first looks everywhere! The windows all around also help let in a ton of natural light which makes for beautiful captured moments.
Founders Hall is one of the most unique wedding venues in Charlotte due to it’s large, open floor and sweeping skylights. It’s quite an epic background for a fantastic wedding ceremony.
Karly and Ken actually split up their wedding day into two Best Impressions locations with their reception being at Terrace at Cedar Hill. We love working this venue because of their large windows and open dance floor area. Along with a live band and beautiful last dance, Karly and Ken turned a rainy day into a gorgeous day.
