Katie and Robby’s world revolves around their two huskies (Yeti and Nike), so it was only right that they had a dog-friendly Charlotte wedding. They included their fur babies from the very beginning in their engagement photos and had them present on the wedding day during getting ready and the ceremony. The dogs even made an “appearance” at the wedding reception in the form of cake toppers and custom head-on-a-stick props! Logistically, the pups were actually shuttled home by a family member after the ceremony, but we have seen some really cool specialty services for wedding day dog sitting and transportation (check out our tips for including your dog in photos HERE).

It was for the best that the dogs didn’t stick around for the party because the other awesome thing about Katie and Robby’s wedding was that they booked the Split Live DJ Experience with owner DJ Vinny himself! This is the best of the best wedding music experience available in the Charlotte area. It’s the perfect blend of your favorite songs with the energy of a live band. In this instance, the set-up included Vinny on the mixer, Dianne on the vocals, a saxophonist, a drummer, and an MC. It was truly an epic party for some epic people.

Choosing a Dog-Friendly Wedding Venue in Charlotte

Katie and Robby chose Sweet Magnolia Estate as their Charlotte wedding venue for a variety of reasons, but one big pull was that it was dog-friendly and they would be allowed to bring their beloved huskies along with them. The dogs were allowed throughout the entire property from the ceremony location outside to the reception and getting ready spaces. From the moment that we walked into Katie’s getting ready room, Yeti (Katie’s dog), was at the center of it all. Not long after, Robby arrived with Nike (his husky) and both dogs got to be a part of the wedding ceremony as part of the wedding party.

An Epic Party with an Ode to the Dogs

After the dogs left for the evening, it was time to party hard. Katie and Robby shared some really fun choreographed first dances before cutting their cake with the most adorable husky dog toppers. The dance floor was packed all night long thanks to the incredible Split Live DJ Experience team, fun party props, and a high-energy sparkler send-off. The couple’s dog-loving family and friends enjoyed dancing the night away with a few light night surprise guests in the form of a head-on-a-stick.
