Isabella and Nick’s South End Charlotte brewery wedding was special in so many ways. Isi and Nick are unicorns… true Charlotte natives! Their parents live mere miles from each other, but they didn’t meet until undergrad at UNC. At the time of planning their Charlotte wedding, they were both in med school in different states, but making it work! They wanted to get married in their shared hometown, so after a Catholic ceremony in south Charlotte, they migrated to South End for some fun photos (and Jeni’s ice cream!) before ending their night at the Barrel Room at Triple C.
Ceremony-wise, Isabella and Nick were very traditional. They got ready in separate places and did not see each other until the ceremony. Nick’s reaction upon seeing his bride though was priceless! As with most traditional Catholic ceremonies, there was a lot of sitting, standing, kneeling, and sitting again, but it really was a beautiful ceremony! Check out Christine and Bryan’s wedding for another example of a Catholic ceremony.
Catholic weddings tend to have a break of a few hours between ceremony and reception, so Isi and Nick wanted to use that time to take some fun wedding portraits around Charlotte’s South End before heading to the brewery. After a long Catholic ceremony and no real lunch, the newlyweds were STARVING! So in addition to taking some fun photos, we kindly asked to hop the line at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to grab a snack. Isi and Nick had a little too much fun feeding each other ice cream in front of South End’s famous Confetti Hearts Wall and I’m pretty sure Isi missed Nick’s mouth at least once :P. Once they were satiated, we wandered around the Atherton Mill area for a bit before heading to the Barrel Room at Triple C for their brewery reception.
The best part of Isi and Nick’s wedding day was being able to let loose at their reception! Not just them letting loose, but us too! We had so much fun dancing the night away with all of Isi and Nick’s family and friends. At the end of the night, Isabella and Nick had one of the sweetest private last dances we’ve ever seen. We just love how they are holding each other tight and taking in every moment. And, while drunk guests and streamers are usually a messy mix, Isi and Nick embraced the mess and waded through oceans of streamers to their getaway car. What a fun way to end the night!
