As wedding photographers, we see a ton of different personalities on the wedding day from both grooms and brides. Both Alex and Klay were SO freaking calm on the day of their Byron’s South End Wedding, and in part that was because it was always destined to be a beautiful day. From getting ready overlooking uptown Charlotte, to a fun portrait session at the heart wall in Nebel’s Alley, to a heartfelt ceremony at Byron’s South End, Alex and Klay’s wedding was just lighthearted and relaxed.

Getting Ready at Grand Bohemian Hotel

Getting ready at the Grand Bohemian Hotel is a great choice for a local Charlotte wedding, as you have the opportunity to overlook the city while you get ready for the day. Alex took advantage of this when she got ready as Megan Oliveri did her magic! Klay and his groomsmen got ready right down the hall, watching a soccer game and eating some delicious doughnuts.

First Look at Grand Bohemian Hotel

The Grand Bohemian Hotel has an amazing courtyard for you to do your first look with a cool sculpture garden and beautiful lawn right by the city. We were even greeted by a fleet of people taking a horseback tour of Uptown Charlotte!

Portraits at Grand Bohemian Hotel

There’s a small hidden landing in the hotel that has a gorgeous background of melting flowers. It’s a secluded way to take some photos completely without distraction while still overlooking the city. It’s honestly like you have all of Uptown Charlotte to yourself.

Byron’s South End Wedding Ceremony

When Alex and Klay were transported to Byron’s South End for their wedding, the whole place was set up already. Flowers from Blossom Bay lined the ceremony space, and candles were lit. During the wedding ceremony, Alex and Klay did a beer exchange, and were married by one of their cousins. The whole thing was short, sweet, personal, and lighthearted.

Byron’s South End Wedding Reception

Best Impressions SLAYED this reception! Signature cocktails were named after Alex and Klay’s dogs, and the food of course was crazy good. After a lovely first dance and cake cutting, one of Alex’s friends and relatives sang a killer kareoke version of “Stand By Me.” After that, they had a CRAZY fun open dance floor, and we finished the night with some creative portraits out in Nebels Alley!
