So, you’ve decided to have your wedding in Spring in Charlotte? Good choice – no, GREAT choice. Spring is one of absolute favorite times to shoot and attend weddings. The weather isn’t too hot, everything is in bloom, the leaves are coming back out, and there’s just a general sense of getting excited about the year ahead. Spring also gives you a ton of flexibility with venue choice because it opens up both indoor and outdoor venues. Keep in mind spring showers though!
Ashley and Tommy made this wedding so bright – and we’re not talking about the color pallet (although they PERFECTED the spring florals and decor, but we’ll talk about that later.) I mean they were just smiles all day long from the moment we stepped in the door to the second they exited. When you’re with Ashley and Tommy, you can’t help but to smile along with them.
Let’s face it, hotel rooms can be dark, or at best they have one big window. That’s why places like Bungalow 1325 exist: the super cozy Plaza Midwood house is designed with photographers in mind and brings in all of the beautiful sunlight that we’ve been craving. Ashley was able to bring her entire bridal party along with family to join her in getting ready for the day. Meanwhile, Tommy chose his house to get ready – which was of course meaningful and convenient.
If you’re having a wedding during the Spring in Charlotte, then you have to pick a place for photos where the trees are going to give you a gorgeous background! For Ashley and Tommy, that was Pearl Park over by Metropolitan shopping center. We found a patch of shade for them to see each other for the first time, and they looked incredible together both dressed smartly in white.
Well I’m SO glad you asked! Ashley can answer this one. ALL OF THE COLORS is the correct answer. Her wedding florals were absolutely stunning and screamed Spring in Charlotte from every facet of decor. You can see from the images below that her bouquets mimicked the pedestals for a cohesive look!
Terrace at Cedar Hill is a lovely venue to marry the indoors with the outdoors. When Ashley and Tommy entered their reception, they were absolutely beaming with that newly-married energy! We found some time to sneak them outside to catch a sunset, and after they came back to chow down on some cake. Ashely’s parents owned a cake shop while she was growing up, so her whole family helped making the cakes. Her dad baked them, and Ashley and her mom did the icing and decorating. Ashley even managed to celebrate their two Huskies on Tommy’s groom’s cake! Before the night ended, we snuck the couple down the street for some creative nighttime wedding photos, and they ended the night with an amazing bubble exit. Their wedding was nothing short of extraordinary, and is a great example of how to pull off a stellar spring wedding in Charlotte!
