If you’ve ever thought about having your wedding on a working farm, take inspiration from Claire and Austin’s Pineville barn wedding! They chose to get married at the Sugar Creek Farm in Pineville because Claire’s family is very close to the owners and it was very meaningful to Claire. While they’ve hosted a few weddings there at Sugar Creek Farm, this Pineville venue is still first and foremost a working farm with horses, goats, turkeys, a barn full of hay, and fields and fields of crops.

Prepping for a Barn Wedding

Due to it being a working farm, the Pineville barn really didn’t have much in the way of a private getting ready space, so Claire and Austin got ready in private residences off-site. However, that came with the added perk of having their pups with them! We met their pups, Gannon and Daisy, during their engagement session when Daisy was just a puppy! While Daisy was a little too excited for photos on this wedding day, Gannon made sure he was always at the center of the action. While Claire and the ladies focused on their hair and make-up, Austin and the guys had a few beers and played that “hook and ring” game. Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly competition!

Getting Married on the Farm

Once they arrived at the farm, the ladies utilized the barn for some fun photos before the guys arrived. Claire and Austin did not see each other before the ceremony, but they did share a sweet first touch around a corner of the barn. It was an emotional moment only briefly interrupted by some horse nuzzles and they made a phone call to Bob Goff, a notorious motivation speaker and author of Christian non-fiction books. Bob apparently shares his personal phone number at the end of each of his books, and the crazy thing is: he actually answers! He gave Claire and Austin some brief marriage advice and blessed their marriage right before they walked down the aisle.

A Wedding Reception in the Barn

For all the people that came out to Pineville to celebrate Claire and Austin, there wasn’t quite enough space in the barn for everyone at the wedding. Dinner was actually held outdoors under a big tent, but the party was 100% inside the barn. Claire and Austin kicked off the party by actually sabering a champagne bottle! The barn served as the dancefloor and it packed all night long thanks to our favorite DJ, Vinny Esposito, with Split Second Sound! When it got a little warm in there, we snuck away with the newlyweds for some fun night portraits (and a bit of fresh air!). Lastly, they ended their night with a pretty epic sparkler exit.
