Molly and Luke’s June wedding at The Morehead Inn was full of cozy moments, embraces, and snuggles. These two met while both studying music in college and music is still a big part of their life and was very present at their wedding! For example, they invited a very talented musical friend to sing a song during their ceremony. They mother of the bride also surprised the couple with a personalized record album guestbook where guests signed on the records themselves.

Getting Ready at the Morehead Inn

The Morehead Inn features a pastel, light-filled getting ready room upstairs on site, which is a huge benefit! While Molly was getting ready, Luke realized that he left his suit at the rehearsal dinner the night before, so he ran off to go collect that. Luckily, Molly just laughed it off because that was: “so Luke”. Despite the normal wedding day jitters, bride and groom were both very relaxed and go-with-the-flow on their wedding day.

Sweet First Look and Outdoor Ceremony

You’d never know that the Morehead Inn was located right outside of uptown with this sweet first look out in the courtyard. Luke’s reaction was seriously perfect and he couldn’t stop smiling. The ceremony was also held outside behind the main building and we were so lucky with the sunny June weather. The trees and the tent also provided plenty of shade, so it wasn’t too hot despite being summer in North Carolina.

Wedding Reception at Morehead Inn

The layout of the Morehead Inn with multiple rooms and spaces generally means that the reception is also spread out throughout these spaces. But what that does, is it allows for different vibes in different locations. For example, the back room served as the party dance floor, while the outdoor tented area gave off garden party vibes. Throughout the night, Molly and Luke bounced between each space, getting to spend a good amount of time with each their guests. We concluded the evening by taking a few creative night portraits away from all the guests, letting Molly and Luke take a few moments to let their beautiful wedding day sink in.
