Morghyn and Wade have been insane supporters of us since day 1. Ever since shooting their engagement session in Uptown, we knew their vibe was elegant but joyous, and damn did their wedding at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte reflect that. This was actually our first wedding that we’ve shot at The Mint Museum Uptown (we’ve shot another event at the Randolph Road location), and we LOVED the venue! It checked all the boxes for Morghyn and Wade: Separate getting-ready rooms, a giant ballroom for their reception to fit all their friends and family, and most importantly, being close to Uptown to celebrate the place where they have their family.

When you have your wedding at the Uptown location of the Mint museum, you’re surrounded by art everywhere you look. The getting ready rooms overlook glass blown structures, the ceremony space is surrounded by giant woven tapestries, and the reception space includes a balcony that overlooks all of Uptown Charlotte.

When we shot this wedding, the Mint Museum had an insanely colorful backdrop. We were worried that this might be a distraction, but it turned into something we could use to make really unique ceremony photos! After the ceremony, we took Morghyn and Wade just outside to take advantage of the awesome Uptown Charlotte architecture for their portraits. We LOVE how these turned out for them!

Morghyn and Wade actually had a family member play guitar and piano for them during the dinner hour, which added a really special touch to he night. Their reception was an absolute blast, and they exited surrounded by their closest friends and family. A PERFECT wedding, in our opinion!
