When Kim and I were searching for our own wedding venue, Laboratory Mill was somewhere that really jumped out to us for it’s character. It’s a beautiful historic space and the fact that it’s located on a river just makes it all so romantic. While it was too big for us, it was perfect for Hilary and Sam. Lab Mill has some of the best natural light out of any venue that we’ve photographed, and it made for incredible portraits and moments for the both of them, including a sweet first look with both Hilary’s father and Sam. By seeing each other earlier in the day, that meant that we had lots of time to explore the grounds with them!
After a beautiful ceremony led by the pastor of their church, we entered the reception to find so many small, yet meaningful details to celebrate Hilary and Sam. The bar held two pumpkins that a family member had hand-painted with the bride and groom’s faces and a countdown to their wedding day which finally showed “0”! Sam has also painted game figures to place on top of their pie (yes, pie. Not cake. Baked using an old family recipe) that were made to look like them and their cats!
We had such a fun time hanging out with these two, and were so grateful to have met them and worked with them. Enjoy the images from the day!
