COVID-19 Stay at Home orders have put a damper on our normally busy spring, so it was like Christmas when SOME of the restrictions were lifted and we were finally able to get back out and shoot again. And who better to have our first session our of quarantine with than Kim and Ryan in Downtown Davidson NC! (Don’t worry, this was absolutely a socially distanced shoot).

Downtown Davidson NC

Downtown Davidson NC is an adorable suburb of Charlotte only 20 minutes north of Uptown. We don’t get up there as much as we should, but Davidson is home to some of our favorite places such as the amazing Kindred restaurant and Our Town Cinemas. We’ve also been up a few times to the Davidson Farmers Market which houses some of our favorite farms and vendors. Downtown Davidson is also close to Lake Norman (especially Jetton Park), which makes it a perfect launching point for a full day trip to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Since they will be getting married at the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel next summer, they wanted to have their engagement photos in another downtown close to their heart (and home): Davidson, NC! This was the perfect location because of it’s small town charm, unique small businesses, and lots of beautiful brick. We spent the evening wandering all around town and Davidson College campus before ending our session with some much deserved Ben and Jerry’s ice cream 😛

We also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the essential workers keeping our community thriving during these uncertain times. Ryan is a PT and Kim just graduated from nursing school and these are two of the most caring and compassionate people we’ve ever met. These are still obviously tough times for everybody and we need people like Kim and Ryan taking care of everybody.
