Brittany and Josh have honestly become some of our closest friends and we are honored to have captured their rainy Laboratory Mill wedding last year.
You know, the kind of friends that will meet up with you for drinks at Royal Bliss Brewing Co. on any given weeknight. The kind of friends that you can join up with and sweep Friends trivia twice with (with no help from Jess….sorry Jess). The kind of friends that you end up attending a 2yo birthday party for. And the kind of friends that are such good parents to their little daughter and support US for how we parent our son as well.
There are no two people more deserving of a beautiful wedding day and they didn’t let the rain spoil their fun. Their daughter provided endless entertainment as she soaked up all the attention from family and friends. We think it’s just too cool that she’ll get to look back at her parents wedding album one day and see herself as such an important part of the day.
The start of Brittany and Josh’s wedding day was very relaxed. The whole day was in one place from getting ready through the exit, so there were no complicated logistics or strict timelines that needed to be followed. Usually, we tend to split up during getting ready to focus our time on either the bride or the groom, but it was easy enough to bounce between the two getting ready spaces and see both of them!
One of the best parts of a Laboratory Mill wedding is it’s size and the fact that it has a fully indoor ceremony and reception space. The venue can fit up 475 people depending on how the space is used. Generally what we’ve seen is for our couples to use the larger indoor space with the stage for the ceremony and then the smaller room on the backside of the stage for the reception. You can see the set-up of another Laboratory Mill Wedding here.
Josh really wanted pictures of the two of them down by the river, but with all the rain that day, that wasn’t going to be possible (we’ll take a lot of risks, but safety isn’t one of them). When it came down to it, he was pretty go with the flow, and for someone who isn’t usually into having their picture taken, he was willing to listen to whatever creative ideas we came up with (which was quite a few)! It was so much fun making photography magic with these two. They ended the night with an indoor bubble exit (not recommended… it was slippery) and so many incredible memories with their family and friends.
