If we had to pick a theme for this session, it would have to be serendipity. From the way that Lauren and Mike met, to us choosing them as winners of our engagement session giveaway, to us hitting it off like lifelong friends, the whole thing felt like it was meant to be.

Mike and Lauren had almost crossed paths multiple times – they grew up in the same town (Wake Forest, NC), he dated someone from her high school for years, they worked in the same shopping center the summers between high school and college, they went to the same college and knew the same groups of people to the SECOND degree – but never once met! Then after living some life, Lauren went out one night for a drink with her roommate and “his friend Michael”, they told the same Spongebob joke, and the rest is – as they say – history. They got engaged last September!

Fast forward last fall and we had partnered up with our friend and amazing hair and make-up artist, Megan Oliveri, to offer a free beauty session and engagement photo session to newly engaged couples! Lauren, a good friend of our past bride Sydney, entered herself and Mike, and wound up getting selected! According to her, she “NEVER” wins anything, but we could not have chosen a more deserving couple.

Despite living in Chattanooga, Lauren and Mike were so appreciative and flexible, and we all agreed to meet in Asheville for their session, which is also where they will be getting married next May at Haiku I Do! They rented the most beautiful AirBnb (The Graham House) and we also explored the beautiful mountain flora in the Botanical Gardens At Asheville. We are thrilled that they’ve chosen us to capture their wedding as well and we cannot wait to celebrate their caring, joyful, and quirky relationship!
